When you register for free access, we collect your first name, last name, school email address, and school name. We use Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) to process this data. Brevo is a GDPR-compliant email service provider based in the EU.
We use your data to: (1) notify you when Cipher resources are available to download; (2) send occasional updates about Cipher's development and launch; (3) respond to any queries you send us. We will not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We process your data under legitimate interest (direct marketing related to the service you signed up for) and consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
We retain your data for as long as you remain subscribed to our communications. If you unsubscribe, we will delete your personal data within 30 days unless we are required to retain it for legal reasons.
Under GDPR, you have the right to: access your personal data; rectify inaccuracies; request deletion; restrict processing; data portability; and object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@ciphercomputing.co.uk.
Our website does not currently use tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and seek your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.

Cipher is designed for use in schools but we do not collect personal data from children. When Cipher Chat launches, children will access it using a school code only — no individual logins, no email addresses, no personal data collection.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will also be communicated via email.
